A direct connection between the controller and the network equipment can provide a more reliable connection. When planning for a CAT 5, 5e, or 6 connection between the router and a Luxor, your maximum distance is 300 feet. If a longer distance is required, the use of a repeater is necessary. This is standard protocol for Cat cables, and has nothing to do with the hardware or setup of the Luxor.
