The LX lighting transformers are equipped with a photocell on the outside lower right of the unit. The LX can be programmed to turn lights ON at dusk and turn OFF at dawn. If the LX is not activating the programs at sunset as desired, please check that the program is set for ON at Dusk. Learn More
If the lights still do not come on at DUSK, we would recommend RESETTING the unit.
Follow the steps below to test the photocell manually:
- Perform a hard reset
- Set on/off times to dusk/dawn. Learn More
- Shine flashlight on photocell eye directly in line with the eye (not off-center)
- Wait to ensure the LX will turn on/off with the flashlight on or with tape (or hand) covering the photocell eye (the maximum time to change is 25 seconds; after that, it is not going to change)
Note: If you are testing the photocell manually, the LX will only turn on once per day. To repeat the test, you will need to change the date and perform the reset again.
If the LX panel still does not operate via photocell the front panel would need to be replaced. The DX front panel is the replacement for the LX unit and offers additional features that will eliminate the need for a photocell.
The LX has a 10-year warranty (date code stamped on inside of the panel. Warranty is handled through the installation contractor or place of purchase. FX makes our products and replacement parts available through our network of authorized distributors.
