I always try to incorporate at least one unique trick into every lighting design. On this site it is not difficult to find opportunity for lighting trickery. Let's look at how a single well positioned FX light can make a dramatic difference. Below we have a linear patio area that has a daytime termination view of a large Sago palm. At night the palm disappears as shown below: |

If we mount a TS-50 in the trellis spotting the Sago it creates a dramatic focal point.

The three pots terminate the view at the opposite end of the patio. But at night there is no impact without FX light.

Halogen light provides high impact and high color rendition.

We noticed in our Photo Documentation walk through that there are two trees just off site certainly within our lighting grasp. By setting up two MU-50s just outside the fence line we can blow out the visually limiting fence line. Compare the photos below to see which gives the backyard more depth.
