The most visible source of lighting equipment comes from path lights. Path Lighting should be used to draw attention to pedestrian hazards such as grade changes or to illuminate surfaces that can't be reached by downlighting from trees, eaves and other architectural elements or integral wall mounted fixtures.
This approach of a limited use of path light fixtures comes from the realities of the environment in which they are placed. Lawn mowers, cars, kids and careless gardeners can reduce the most rugged path lights into scrap with little effort, thereby creating a reoccurring maintenance problem.
